Hilton Garden Inn brings food and friendship to Kasih Sayang

Before the food distribution began at 1pm on Tuesday, 6 October 2026, Hilton Garden Inn staff were busy preparing vegetables, fruits, chicken and other food items for residents. For an afternoon, the team brought its hospitality into the neighbourhood, joining KKCS in a shared effort to care for the community.

Twelve staff members volunteered at Kasih Sayang’s regular Tuesday distribution, while the hotel sponsored S$800 worth of fresh food. With 120 families coming forward, the team’s support took a practical and personal form: helping prepare and distribute food, meeting residents and working alongside the community.

The contribution offered a meaningful way for colleagues to serve together. By giving their time as well as sponsoring food, Hilton Garden Inn’s staff became part of the afternoon’s work and the relationships that sustain it.

A place to share and belong

Kasih Sayang is an initiative by Kampong Kapor Family Service Centre, under Kampong Kapor Community Services (KKCS). What began as a community fridge providing food support has grown into a space where residents connect, share ideas and skills, and contribute to one another’s well-being.

The weekly distribution meets everyday needs while giving neighbours opportunities to meet and get to know one another. Residents are encouraged to offer their time, strengths and care, helping shape a community in which everyone has something valuable to contribute.

For Hilton Garden Inn’s team, joining the distribution was a rewarding experience. Mr Chandra Morgan, Operation Manager at Hilton Garden Inn, shared that staff enjoyed the activity and were happy to have the opportunity to give back to society. He also appreciated how well the session was managed, particularly the queue management system.

His feedback reflects an important part of a volunteering experience: thoughtful coordination helps residents collect their food and enables visiting teams to contribute effectively. For companies exploring community service, Kasih Sayang offers a practical way to support residents while bringing colleagues together around a shared activity.

KKCS warmly thanks Hilton Garden Inn for its generous food sponsorship and the 12 staff volunteers for their time and service. Their participation shows how a company can bring its people and resources together to support the community.

As Kasih Sayang continues week after week, corporate partners can help sustain this work. Sponsoring fresh food supports families’ everyday needs, while staff volunteering brings additional hands and opportunities for connection. Returning partners can also build familiarity with the initiative and the community over time.

We welcome companies that would like to sponsor fresh food, organise a staff volunteering session or explore an ongoing partnership. Whether your team is taking its first step into community service or looking to deepen its involvement, we would be pleased to discuss how your contribution can support Kasih Sayang.
