Parenting and Children Programmes  

Safe ME! continues to equip children with essential life skills in a supportive and empowering group setting. Through interactive activities and guided group discussions, participants strengthened their understanding of protective behaviours and how to recognise and respond to unsafe situations in the community.

Post‑programme assessments and observations reflected improved safety awareness, confidence, and help‑seeking skills among participants.

The team continues to seek new partnerships to expand the reach of Safe ME!, enabling more children in the community to be equipped with the skills to stay safe, recognise unsafe situations, and seek help when needed.

Each month, families come together at the centre, with members participating in age-appropriate sessions — Children’s Club, Teens Club and Parents Club. The Children’s and Teens Clubs draw from the Social, Emotional and Ethical (SEE) Learning framework, equipping participants with skills to build healthy relationships with themselves, others and the wider community. At the same time, the Parents Club provides a safe space for parents to reflect on their parenting approaches, learn practical strategies, and support one another through shared experiences.

By engaging families collectively while addressing their different life stages, HEARTS@78A Family Club strengthens family relationships, builds emotional resilience, and creates opportunities for early support before challenges escalate.

Play and Learn Support (PALS) is an initiative that supports parents with young children who may not yet be meaningfully engaged in learning and developmental activities at home. Many of these families face multiple stressors that can limit parents’ bandwidth to consistently engage their children or ensure regular preschool attendance. Through volunteer-led reading, play, and learning activities, PALS provides children with enriching opportunities to learn and grow within their home environment. At the same time, the programme seeks to influence and encourage parents to participate in small, achievable ways, building their confidence and involvement one step at a time.
