Proud smiles filled CONNECT @ City Square Mall as children gathered with their families to mark the completion of the second cycle of BRIGHT’s social-emotional learning component.
The celebration recognised more than the completion of a programme. It reflected the children’s growth, the confidence they had developed and the encouragement they had received from their families throughout their journey. For Kampong Kapor Community Services (KKCS), the occasion also showed what CONNECT can make possible—a welcoming place where children and families can participate, celebrate and grow together.
KKCS is privileged to have been provided with a space at CONNECT @ City Square Mall by City Developments Limited through the National Council of Social Service (NCSS). Conveniently located within City Square Mall and directly connected to Farrer Park MRT station, CONNECT provides an accessible and inviting environment where families can receive support, participate in programmes and build meaningful connections. This valuable opportunity has strengthened our presence in the community and enhanced our ability to bring services closer to children and families.
CONNECT is shared by five social service agencies. Co-locating creates opportunities for closer collaboration and referrals, connecting individuals and families to a wider range of community support.
Designed to Support Different Needs
CONNECT’s thoughtfully designed facilities enable KKCS teams to respond to the different needs of children and families.
The modular room can be adapted for group programmes, workshops, training sessions, meetings and community activities. Its flexibility allows different teams to configure the space according to the needs of each programme and its participants.
Private Counselling rooms provide individuals and families with a safe and confidential setting to discuss personal concerns and receive support. Meeting pods offer quieter spaces for smaller conversations and collaboration with families and community partners.
The Children’s activity space provides a suitable setting for free play and guided activities facilitated by staff and volunteers during selected sessions. Comfortable waiting and shared areas also allow parents and caregivers to remain nearby while their children participate in programmes.
Cove, a dedicated children’s therapy room, supports the work of The Playful Hut, a children’s therapeutic service offered by KKCS. The Playful Hut provides one-to-one, play-based therapeutic interventions for children aged three to 12 who may be coping with difficulties following a stressful experience.
CONNECT also serves as the office base for KKCS’s KidSTART team. Although practitioners primarily support families through home visits, this facility serves as a central hub for team coordination and collaboration.
By bringing different facilities together in one accessible location, CONNECT strengthens KKCS’s ability to better serve the families.

Cove – Children’s Therapy Room
A safe and warm children’s therapy room used by The Playful Hut, KKCS’s children’s therapeutic service, to provide one-to-one, play-based interventions that support
children in understanding their emotions and developing healthy coping skills.
Canopy – Children’s Activity Space
A child-friendly space for free play and guided activities facilitated by staff and volunteers during selected sessions.
Counselling Rooms
Private and comfortable rooms for counselling, conversations and family support sessions.
Meeting Pods
Quiet and comfortable spaces for smaller conversations, discussions and meetings.
Meadow
An interactive shared space where children and families can explore feelings through playful wall portraits and mirror selfies.

An open and inviting area where families can connect and discover resources relating to parenting and parental well-being.
