Ready to make a difference! NUS Bizad Charity Run volunteers and the KKCS Committee gathered at Whampoa Family Service Centre before heading out for the community outreach.

On Sunday, 16 August 2026, we welcomed students from the NUS Bizad Charity Run 2027 Committee to Whampoa Family Service Centre (WFSC) for a meaningful afternoon of community outreach at Jalan Bahagia.

The afternoon began with an introduction to Kampong Kapor Community Services (KKCS) and the work we do to strengthen families and build the community. Our WFSC team then briefed the volunteers on the purpose of the outreach, how to engage residents respectfully, and the different situations they might encounter along the way.

After a group photo, our volunteers headed into the Jalan Bahagia neighbourhood to begin the door-to-door outreach.

Through conversations with residents, the students helped raise awareness of WFSC and the support available within the community, while also listening to residents and gathering feedback on their experiences and perspectives of the community.

The afternoon concluded back at WFSC with a debrief, during which volunteers had the opportunity to share their experiences and reflections on the outreach.

What made the day especially meaningful was not simply the number of doors we knocked on, but the willingness of our volunteers to step forward, listen, and connect.

A big thank you to the NUS Bizad Charity Run Committee for giving their time and energy to journey with us.

This is only one part of our partnership with NUS Bizad Charity Run 2027, and we look forward to continuing the journey towards Race Day in January 2027.

Every conversation is an opportunity to connect. Every connection helps build a stronger community.
